After the removal of the Bauhausler 1932 the master houses were changed by alterations strongly. The houses of Gropius and Moholy-Nagy fell in the last days of World War II to a bomb attack victim, in GDR times was built on the foundation of House Gropius a detached house with pitched roof, which was later demolished. The resulting gaps in the building ensemble were closed in 2014. It has deliberately avoided a historically accurate reconstruction. The Berlin architecture office Bruno Fioretti Marquez (BFM) designed an architecture of blur for the two destroyed houses. It enables a very conscious perception between inventory and reinterpretation.
